Transcribd ("the App") is developed by Rene Zelaya, operating as MITM LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

Overview

Transcribd is designed with privacy as a core principle. All transcription and speaker diarization is performed entirely on your Mac using on-device machine learning models. No audio, transcripts, or personal data are transmitted to external servers.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your audio files.
• We do not collect, store, or transmit your transcribed text.
• We do not collect analytics, usage data, or telemetry.
• We do not use advertising or tracking frameworks.
• We do not share any data with third parties.

File Access

The App requests access to audio files solely for the purpose of on-device transcription. Files are processed locally and are not sent to any server or cloud service.

On-Device Processing

Transcribd uses Apple's SpeechAnalyzer framework and on-device speaker diarization models to transcribe and identify speakers in your recordings. All processing happens on your Mac. No audio or transcript data ever leaves your device.

Language Model Downloads

The App may download speech recognition language packs from Apple's servers on first use. This is a one-time download handled entirely by Apple's frameworks. No audio or personal data is transmitted during this process.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Your app preferences and settings.
• Your transcription queue and output files, stored in locations you choose.
• Downloaded speech recognition models, stored in your app's cache.

This data never leaves your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the App.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud APIs. The open-source speaker diarization models (pyannote, WeSpeaker) run entirely on your device under their respective open-source licenses.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect any personal data from any user, it is safe for use by individuals of all ages.
